With the increased presenting of the Foundations of Interpreting Seminar Series in more areas of the country, we recognize the financial challenges that face newer interpreters and those working toward the goal of becoming interpreters. For many students, their earning power is diminished while in school and for some months after graduation. BMC offers Foundations in a 13-hour 'weekend' format (Friday night through Sunday noon), and the overall cost will be higher than attending a shorter workshop locally. While you focus your time and energy on education, we want you to have access to the learning environment that is uniquely Foundations.
If you are currently enrolled as a student and interested in interpreting and you're looking for some kind of financial discount to be able to join us, please complete the Student Discount Application on this page and wait for us to get back to you. Non-traditional students are encouraged to apply as well. If your application is approved, we'll send you a coupon code to use during registration. Applications will not be approved if submitted after you have registered. Apply first. Wait for a coupon code if approved. Then register.
The number of student discounts available per seminar is limited for budgetary reasons. We hope this discount process will be used fairly and will benefit students of interpreting, be they high school seniors; those in undergraduate programs or recently graduated; non-traditional students, particularly from signing families; or graduate students. If you are a student from the University of Southern Maine who has registered for Foundations as a course at USM, please do not use this form. USM students who register and pay BMC directly may use this form. Please contact the seminar coordinator with any questions.
We hope you can join us!
