Working in Teams (for Deaf, Coda, Hearing Interpreters)

Working in Teams

Tuesdays November/December 2021

NOTE: This presentation and discussion will be conducted in ASL, without interpretation.

Working in Teams

This seminar aims to bring together Deaf interpreters teamed with Coda and hearing interpreters. The prerequisite for taking this seminar is Foundations I and II.

The structure of the program is as follows:

In session 1, Coda and hearing interpreters will meet in one group and Deaf interpreters will meet in a separate session. Sessions 2 and 3 will be Deaf/Coda/hearing interpreters working together in teams (8 to 10 teams).
Each session is activity driven with both team and large group exploration. Sessions 2 and 3 will be led in ASL without interpretation.

Attendance at all 3 scheduled sessions is required.

*Note: Each of the 3 sessions are 3 hours long. Attendance at all sessions required.

Revisiting Foundations

If you participated in the first module of the Foundations of Interpreting Seminar Series, we hope you’ve continued to discover insights into your own interpreting practice.

For many of us, online work, workshops and learning have become a part of all of our lives. Several long-time students of the IMI have developed this virtual continuation of the model, aligned with the content and approach of Foundations I. If you've taken Foundations I - and not yet taken additional modules - join us in Revisiting Foundations!
