Cancellations/Refunds/Accommodations

Cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing (email, text) to the coordinator before 5pm Eastern on October 16, in order to receive a refund. After October 16, no refunds are available.
Refunds made will be the full amount paid minus the PayPal processing fee. We recommend a voucher instead, for the full amount.
If the BMC cancels this training, it will be rescheduled.
Please contact the coordinator to request reasonable accommodations before Dec 19 or with any questions about this series.

Registration Deadline

Registration for this seminar will remain open until Oct 16 at 5pm Eastern time. At that time, if the minimum of 15 registrations has been reached, registration will remain open until filled to capacity. Having less than 15 registrations at that time may mean rescheduling or cancelling of the seminar.

Imposter Syndrome: Facts, Illusions, and Solutions

Why do so many interpreters report dealing with “Imposter Syndrome”? Where does this come from? How is it reinforced? How can we overcome this problem?

Join us in a brave and supportive space to discuss an issue so many interpreters need to understand and manage.

This seminar will look at the causes of imposter syndrome: the history, the policies and laws that created inadequate approaches, the pedagogical challenges that leave students and novices without the tools they need to do quality work, and more.

This workshop is highly interactive and participants will work in small groups to analyze and unpack this issue by responding to focused questions.

Registration

Registration is $75.00 Early-bird rate $65.00 when registering by Oct 16 at 5:00PM Eastern. When completing the registration form, those who identify as Deaf, BIPOC or student qualify for a $10 scholarship to be applied during registration.

ADA accommodation requests must be sent to the coordinator by Oct 16.

Cancellation Policy, Vouchers and Refunds

If you need to cancel, you may receive a voucher to be used for any future BMC seminar, worth 100% of your payment. If you request a refund, you will be issued a refund for the amount paid minus the PayPal fee for processing the refund.

Refunds after cancellations will be for the amount received by BMC; Paypal transaction fees will not be reimbursed.

Either way, requests must be received in writing (email, Help Desk) by 5:00PM Eastern on Friday Oct 16. Requests for refunds or vouchers made after that date and time are non-refundable. If you do not attend the seminar, there will be no refund or voucher issued.

These online IMI Seminars are offered live only. There will be no recording, and no opportunity to watch them at a later date.
